All is not lost. Let us not loose hope. A New Dawn yes, but let the vision of Nkrumah live. Let democracy live; for the people by the people. This is the time all CPP supporters and leaders need to come together to figure out where the party is headed. I believe that CPP will be capable of winning an election irrespective of the fact that we have two major parties. Whoever thought Barack Obama, a minority, would emerge to become the President of the United States. His victory was strategically thought out. The leaders of the CPP need to come up with a plan that will indeed move the party and the Country forward and bring about change for the better, and unite the people of Ghana. With all this said, we need to elect a Presidential candidate that will actually win votes and will be able to deliver to the people. I don't think the party should solely base its choice of a candidate for someone who devotes his or her time, or has had a long notable history and activism with the party. Sources claim that this was the reasoning behind the nomination of the NPP Presidential candidate, Nana Akufo Addo. The bottom line for the CPP is to start now. Start raising funds for the party. Start delivering the manifesto at the grass roots. The Party will have to depend on Samia Nkrumah to let the Ghanaian people know that CPP is still alive and to reflect the vision of Kwame Nkrumah. Currently she is the only representative of the party in Parliment. |
